Trail Day & BBQ - Volunteer Work Event at Platte River State Park

  • Platte River State Park 14421 346th Street Louisville, NE, 68037 United States (map)

Join us at Platte River State Park to do some vegetation removal, AKA mowing and trimming, but stick around afterward for a BBQ.

That's right, we're hosting a mowing-and-trimming BBQ party, thanks to a generous offer from some of our lovely volunteers, who will provide food for all who show up and work.

The day will mostly focus on the aforementioned vegetation removal using string trimmers (both handheld and walk-behind), DR Mowers, loppers, pruners, rakes, etc., but don't be surprised if we also get into some minor tread work.

What to bring:

• Work gloves
• Closed-toe shoes
• Water
• Loppers or hand saws (if you have them)
• Bug spray

We’ll begin at 5:30 PM with a brief safety overview and plan for the day, then break into small teams to get started. Afterward, feel free to stick around and connect with fellow trail supporters and enjoy the free food and drink.

Taking ownership of our trails keeps them strong. We hope you’ll join us.
