Project Updates

  • The natural surface trails planned, designed, constructed, and maintained by THOR under this agreement are intended to provide the community and LCDT visitors with a high-quality, welcoming trail experience that is engaging for diverse trail users of all ages, including walkers and hikers, runners, and mountain bikers. To help ensure the best possible outcomes, THOR endeavors to plan, design, construct, and communicate trail industry and community best practices, including optimizing trail segments for various user types and, where appropriate, creating directional trails.

  • All access to the natural surface trails developed as part of Phase One will be from existing park access points or by trails, connections, and hubs developed and constructed as part of this agreement, including connection points on or near publicly accessible trails, parking lots, and facilities.

  • IMBA Trail Solutions proposes a collaborative process of assessment, planning, and design. Trails Have Our Respect (THOR) representatives and appropriate stakeholders (aka Project Team) will be engaged and informed throughout the process from initial concept visioning to flagged trail alignments. By doing so, all involved will have opportunities to review and comment through the project phases.

  • On Wednesday, April 29th, we officially broke ground on Cunningham Commons. Joined by Mayor Ewing, we celebrated this exciting milestone with the unveiling of plans for a destination playground, fishing piers, bike park, mountain biking trails, and an all-season facility with classroom space and public restrooms. We are thrilled to partner with the City of Omaha and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to bring this game-changing family destination to Lake Cunningham!
